Good to the very last drop - Get the most out of those makeup tubes!

Click here to watch my YouTube video on this.

Getting your money's worth should not be painful. Squeezing a tube of primer until your fingertips bleed is not a relaxing way to start off your beauty routine.

While I'm pretty sure I will never, ever finish an entire eye shadow pan in my lifetime, I have finished several tubes of products like primers. Products like concealers, foundations, moisturizers, and lip products can also come in tubes.

I worked for those last drops.

I don't remember if I didn't have the money to buy a new Urban Decay Primer Potion or if I really was trying to not waste any product (probably a little of both), but I had some chapped knuckles and sore fingers until I thought of this. This is one of those tube packages with that hard, oval top right under the cap that helps shape the tube.

That evil oval makes it dreadfully hard to squeeze out any remaining product once you start to reach the end of the tube. Molded plastic doesn't wanna be squeezed.

Wait a minute. This story sounds awfully familiar....

Our lovely tubed cosmetic products have a familiar cousin in the toiletry world:

I'm like makeup for your teeth!

The evil oval does not like being squeezed!

Yes, people have been squeezing, rolling, and squishing their toothpaste tubes since before the earth began (approximately), so somebody finally decided to do something about it.

Enter, the toothpaste squeezer!

I figured it would work on other stuff similar to toothpaste tubes. Why not?

I paid $4.99 for this at the Container Store.

Now I know they have those smaller ones that just clip around the tube like a hair clip and you squeeze it up the tube, but I wanted to send in the big guns!

You can start off one of two ways.

First, you can insert the bottom of the tube into the notch and slide it into the apparatus:

Or you can pull the rod out, put the tube in the notch, and slide it back in:

Then you twist the "key" on the side and it rolls up your tube while squishing it for you!

Keep going...........Just a few more twists........................

And you're done!

Let me tell you, it is significantly easier to turn the "key" than squeeze the end of the tube.

The first time you do this with a tube, I'd squeeze with the cap off in case any air needs to escape or if you can't quite tell when you need to stop turning.

Whenever you need more product, just barely twist the key and some more will pop right out! Plus, it keeps your tube standing upright on your counter, table, or in your drawer, which is nifty.

If the tube squeezer is no longer producing any product, you are probably almost dry. Remove the tube from the squeezer and squeeze right under the cap/nozzle on the evil oval to get those last precious few drops. Then go to Ulta!

I am hoping they still sell these, but if not, give another toothpaste tube squeezer a try. If you are spending $30 for makeup products, I know you don't just throw them away when there's a ton of product left. Throwing out packages of anything when you know there is product left and you just can't get to it is very frustrating. This product really has saved my fingers and helped me get my money's worth out of my makeup.

Oh yeah, and it works on toothpaste, too.
